Detailed Eligibility
Educational Qualification:
Science Subjects:
- Candidates should have passed the Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from an Education Board listed as a COBSE member with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
- Passed Three years of Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course). OR
- Passed Two years of Vocational courses with non-vocational subjects viz. Physics and Mathematics from State Education Boards /Councils which are listed in COBSE with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the vocational course).
Other than Science Subjects:
- Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
- Passed two years’ vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE members with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.
Age Limit:
- Candidates born between 27 June 2003 and 27 December 2006 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.
- In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection trial, then the upper age limit as of the date of enrolment should be 21 years.
Salary: Rs 30,000/-
Selection Process:
- The selection process includes an Online Test/PST/Medical Examination.
- Eligible candidates will be sent provisional admit cards for Phase – I of testing on their registered e-mail IDs between 48-72 hrs prior to the examination.
Phase I – Scheme of Examination:
- One mark for every correct answer.
- Nil (0) marks for unattempted questions.
- 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer
- Science Subjects: Total duration of the online test shall be 60 minutes and shall comprise Physics, Mathematics, and English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus.
- Other than Science Subjects: Total duration of the online test shall be 45 minutes and shall comprise English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
- Science Subjects & Other than Science Subjects: The total duration of the online test shall be 85 minutes and shall comprise Physics, Mathematics, and English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
Phase II:
- The result of Phase-I and the list of shortlisted candidates for Phase II, based on their performance in the Phase-I Online test, will be uploaded on the website.
- Soon after the declaration of the result of the Phase-I (Online) Test, a cut-off will be applied based on the normalized marks scored by the candidates in the Phase-I Test, and SHORTLISTED candidates will be sent a New admit card on their registered e-mail IDs for the Phase-II test at a designated ASC.
- Names of the shortlisted candidates, who qualify for the online test, shall be displayed and on a stipulated date shall be called at the designated ASC for Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Test-I, and Adaptability Test-II. PFT consists of two parts, PFT-I and PFT-II.
- Candidates who qualify for Adaptability Test-II shall be issued with medical appointment letters at their respective ASCs.
Phase III: The medical examination shall be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on the subject issue.
Examination Fees:
- The examination fee of Rs. 250/- is to be paid online by the candidate while registering for the online examination.
- The payment can be made by Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/Internet Banking through a payment gateway.
- Candidates are advised to follow the instructions/steps given on the payment gateway, and also print/keep transaction details for their records.

Note:
- Online Exam starts from 13 October 2023 onwards.
- The list of candidates finally called for enrolment in AGNIVEERVAYU INTAKE 01/2024 will be published on 27 May 2024.
- E-Call letter ONLY shall be sent to candidates called for enrolment on their Registered e-mail IDs.
- The Provisional Select List (PSL) (merit-wise) will be prepared after the completion of the selection test and the same will be displayed at all the ASCs and also on the web portal on 17 May 2024.
- Agniveervayu will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force under Air Force Act 1950, for a period of 04 years.
